4 in 45
Here are the first 2 of a set of 4 sketches that I plan on doing this summer of the 4 of us kids. Mom has been asking me to do them for a while but I've put it off =) hehe
Anyway, here are the first two - Hunter and Sienna, I'm starting from the youngest to oldest. Hunter's drawing only took me about half an hour, but Sienna's took at least 45 minutes--and it's not even as good so we'll see how it goes. I might do it over again.
I plan to do Connor's tonight, but we'll see how it goes. Hopefully I'll have it posted by Saturday afternoon - and my own portrait as well!

Okay, so my plan backfired - I won't be able to add the other two sketches until further notice. Unfortunately--or rather, fortunately--I have become too busy in the past two days to do much other than work and sleep. No time to draw or do chores (sorry mom - hehe - but I did water the flowers!).

Floral - 3 hours
I don't like this painting very much, I just really needed to paint something! Mom picked these flowers from our garden so I decided to paint it. I used acrylic paint and a 18"x24" piece of canvas. It took me about 3 hours and lack of effort shows. Maybe I'll do it over again another time - either way, I'm moving on for now.
Animal friends
We've had a few interesting run-ins with the animals around the neighborhood this week. The first is this chipmunk - a white one! We figured we'd never see him again, but we have seen him run around since I took this picture.
The second run-in was also a chipmunk. But this one was dead. The neighbor cat killed and left a half-eaten carcass on our driveway. I found it when I almost stepped on it. Screaming and jumping followed this discovery.
And yesterday it was raining so hard that a squirrel took refuge on our porch (first picture). Normally when animals do that, they hide under a chair - but this particular squirrel jumped up on our couch--right in front of the window! He surprised us a bit--and came back every time the rain grew heavy (which happened most of the day).
