Tessellation

This piece was created by first carving the design that I chose into a linoleum block, and then using the block as a stamp, and turning this stamp to create a tessellation. I had to create a piece that would work well with itself -- positive and negative space -- even if I were to turn it 4 times (a requirement)
I only received a B+ on this project, and I am pretty disappointed about that.

how did you take you linoleum block and tessellate it so that you knew where to place it on the paper each time?
